Saturday and Sunday turned out to be excellent sailing days, with Saturday the windier of the two. The boat is slowly improving in terms of ease of handling as well as outright performance. The biggest improvement of the weekend came in the form of a new trampolene, which is 6 kg lighter, narrower, has bolsters on the deck, and generally looks the part.
We had two comparison runs - the first against a Hobie Tiger, which wasn't looking particularly quick, and later on a downwind leg against an International Moth in an 8 kt wind. Using more camber this weekend, Invictus was eventually able to reel her in. The boat certainly felt quicker but, as always, there is room for improvement. Our "element 2" - deformable trailing edge in particular needs work, and we plan to fix that soon. Also, our dolphin striker is dragging a lot in the chop, which does us no favours. We hope to modify that by the next sail.

These are the last few weeks before we have to pack the boat up and post her off to the USA. There's not much time remaining for testing and improving and we're trying to make them count.
Meanwhile we see those sneaky Canadians have come up with ANOTHER C-Class. Seriously, those guys must have a factory or something. It's fantastic to add another C to the fleet.
